MobLand Episode 3: Who else knows Eddie’s bloody secret?
Eddie Harrigan’s killing of Tommy Stevenson sits at the center of the drama in MobLand Season 1 Episode 3. While Eddie committed the crime, he’s not the only one carrying this dangerous secret. Several key family members know what really happened, each with their own reaction to the truth.
First and most directly involved are Harry and Kevin, who work together to hide Eddie’s crime. Kevin, as Eddie’s father, shows anger and frustration when he learns what his son has done. In one tense scene, Kevin confronts Eddie, calling him a “dumb little cunt” and explaining how his actions have started a war with the Stevensons. Kevin is clearly upset that his house was bombed and that his family was put in danger because of Eddie’s actions. Despite his anger, Kevin still helps create the plan to frame Valjon for the murder, showing that family loyalty comes first.
Harry is deeply involved in the cover-up plan. He’s the one who brings Valjon to Richie Stevenson and presents him as Tommy’s killer. Harry seems more practical than emotional about the situation, focusing on solving the problem rather than dwelling on Eddie’s actions. Throughout the episode, Harry works to clean up Eddie’s mess, moving his own family to safety and threatening Valjon to take the blame.
Conrad Harrigan, the family patriarch, definitely knows about Eddie’s crime. When Kevin calls Conrad to tell him they found Tommy “chopped up in a box” and that “whatever you’re thinking, that’s what happened,” Conrad immediately asks to speak to Eddie. Instead of showing shock or anger, Conrad simply says, “We will talk about this later.” In a later scene with Seraphina, Conrad talks about Eddie in a way that confirms he knows what happened. Conrad’s calm reaction suggests he’s seen similar situations before in the family business.
Maeve, Conrad’s wife, not only knows about Eddie’s actions but actually praises him for them. In a striking scene, she tells Eddie, “You stood up for your family. Don’t you listen to them, my darling. You are the heart and soul of the Harrigans.” Her reaction shows how the older generation of the family values loyalty and toughness above all else, even when it involves murder.
Seraphina and Brendan, other family members, are likely aware of what Eddie did, though the episode doesn’t directly show them discussing the specific details of the murder. They’re present during family discussions about the situation, and Seraphina makes comments about Eddie having “dropped this family right in the shit.” The way the family talks suggests that most close family members know or can guess what Eddie did, even if they don’t mention it directly.
Bella, Kevin’s wife, might know about Eddie’s crime, but the episode doesn’t clearly show her reaction to it. She has her own troubles with blackmail that take up her storyline, and her private conversation with Harry focuses more on her problems than on Eddie’s actions.
Outside the family, Valjon now knows that Eddie killed Tommy, as Harry and Kevin told him while forcing him to take the blame. This makes Valjon a dangerous person for the Harrigans, as he could tell Richie the truth if he breaks under questioning.
Richie Stevenson, Tommy’s father, doesn’t know Eddie’s secret yet. The entire plot of the episode revolves around keeping him from finding out. If Richie discovers the truth, it would likely lead to all-out war between the two crime families.
The police also don’t know about Eddie’s involvement. With their discovery of Archie Hammond’s body at the end of the episode, law enforcement is already looking at the Harrigans, but they don’t yet connect Eddie to Tommy’s murder.
The number of people who know Eddie’s secret creates a dangerous situation for the Harrigans. In the world of crime families, secrets rarely stay hidden for long. Each person who knows is a potential weak point that could break under pressure from Richie or the police. The Harrigans’ plan to blame Valjon might buy them time, but with so many people aware of the truth, Eddie’s secret remains at risk of exposure, which would bring Richie’s full vengeance down on the family.
